Good look around you.

To say that I only listen to electronic & dance music (EDM) is inaccurate. I admit, I spend more time building my foundation around electronic & dance, however the point is making music using electronic devices and software. That is the whole point.

The amount of time we spend doing something we are passionate about, is one of the elements to get a good grip of the surrounding. Having said that, every once in a while, I do bumped into some really inspirational music, from different genres.

I don't discriminate. I don't. My musical journey goes through many phases and encounters, having enjoyed different mixes and mashes to this point where I'm writing now. I love music, I muse your ears.

This, muses me.

Genius? Yes.

FABS vs BudakNakal

Okay just to update on my music quest with you guys, I have two accounts on PodOmatic now.

Why, you ask?

First of all, I'm cheapskate. I don't have money to go Pro (USD200/year or something). I prefer amateurs; they are real, raw, crude, and often nasty.

Secondly, both monikers have different perspectives. FABS is actually more of my music preference, something I am more comfortable dealing with. Usually it is dance, fun and trance elements. I have always enjoyed this kind of music and FABS is more like it.

BudakNakal, on the other ball, is more of the different side of me. My alter ego? Could be. In case you don't know, BudakNakal is a Malay word for 'naughty boy' in English. It means I get to do something naughty with this name, so does my music. If you listen to it, it has more of techno, dubstep, and later something more smacky like electro or indie-rock maybe.

Shit actually I wanted to post all my podcast here, as an update, and I ended up ranting bullshit.

Okay, here we go.

So far I have about five podcast episodes, you guys can listen to it over here, it's easier:

I am almost certain that some (or many) people will comment inside their heart, or out loud "your mixtape is nowhere near good," which I totally have expected it. I mean, come on, I myself can detect all the flaws and that's the best part: I need your COMMENTS. I need to improve, I need to listen to critics. I don't believe in perfection, I believe in improvements.

Well, that's all for now. Just remember, you are most welcomed to download my podcast and have a listen while: driving, running, having sex, quarrel, sleep, bathe, whatever.

I will try to share more of what I love to listen to, and hopefully you get my idea, and you get to know me in a more sounding way.

PodOmatic.

Okay.

My previous post was about my music production, you can find me at Soundcloud - BudakNakal. That's where I'll share my own music, my own sound.

I get so bad at writing now, I don't know what to write.

Anyway, I've got another place to share my interest in music, and it's called PodOmatic. This is a little bit different from my Soundcloud. This one is more like my podcast. Yes I know I can upload my podcast in Soundcloud but since I'm still observing which one has a better value-for-money, I'm trying out both on the 'lite version'.

Anyway, check it out here: PodOmatic - BudakNakal

To make easier, you can straight away listen to it:

You can also download it (there's a tab to it - on my webpage) and please, share it with everyone. This is my first upload although it is not my first mixset. I've done a few but it was shitty and I've been practicing and learn a few more things every now and then. Quite challenging when you learn everything, well almost everything on your own. But that's the fun part and the best one.

What is podcast? I don't know the right answer and I don't want to look up on Google and copy-and-paste here, trying to look smart.

To me, my podcast currently is more like sharing something my mixset/mixtape. I look for tracks (say, 10 tracks), find a good mood (hiphop, dance, trance) , mix it (don't mistaken it with 'Remix') and there you go.

Why?

I don't know. The thing about making a mixset, in my humble opinion is about getting the mood flowing. Yes a song or a track is supposed to be good, standing (or sitting) on its own. But for electronic musicians (or they call it DJ) usually plays a set of music that has a growing or flowing mood to it. It's like a journey.

I've been listening to some podcasts by some DJs, and man you'll get what I mean when you listen to it. I'm no DJ to explain it to you.

Everything, music production and mixing was done at Trancignal Studio (TS). Thanks to Gotjo and the other TS Team. We'll try to make it better, time by time.

Keep the music flowing.

Broken light.

Last night I slept on the other side of my king-sized bed, which was extremely unusual thing for me to do. Every time I slept on my usual side of bed, I know I'm at the right place, and I fall asleep just like any other nights. But last night, felt like a new place, out of place, misplaced.

I can feel the coldness of the mattress. I can't smell my own smell but only the smell of someone who just left me, alone in the coldness and the darkness of the night.

I have never felt so alone for the longest time. So alone I can hear my own heartbeats. Apart, unaccompanied, unattended.

I feel like I'm an exile in my own world.

Life, is fragile. Identity, is fragile. Heart, is fragile. Just like glass; once broken, and even then mended, can never and will never look the same, anymore. But we live with the facts.

Someone told me,

"You make daring choices all the time. In fact, you are the most daring person I've ever known. If you can make those kind of choices, you have to live with the consequences."

Lightning struck once. Lightning struck twice. Lightning will never stop striking you, but once it stops, it's gone forever.

Right now, I just want to stop writing and isolate and detach myself from everyone. My light is BROKEN.

Sejahtera Malaysia #1: Unity Bullets

Another busy but boring day.

The not-so-good thing is that, I only know how to use Paint. I don't know shit about Adobe Illustrator nor any of the shits. Hence the bad quality when I saved it into JPEG format. But it's okay, I'm just bored so I don't really care about the quality.

Anyways, I don't know what do you think about this artwork, but what I want to tell is that, the only way for us to have a peaceful, prosperous and progressing country is by putting our country's fat, neo-fascist "Hitlers" to sleep with the Unity Bullets.

The HEART Truth.

I am using a tablet notebook PC (HP TouchSmart tx2) but funny thing is I hardly 'touch' the screen. Not really used to it, as I thought it'd be cool just to have it back then. Served my ego.

Actually I did some 'handwriting' with my touch screen before this, more like a test-run on my notebook. Awfully handsome handwriting I have, you know. Check it out

Anyways yesterday I made some artworks. Been trying to sharpen up my drawing and painting skills you know. Not sure if it's working out right for me but I'm pretty sure I'll still be having plenty of time playing around with it.

Here you go.

To be honest, I took this idea from HERE. You see I have a weak sense of drawing/painting, therefore I needed some "inspiration" to do something. But hey, at least I drew/painted them myself okay? And I did some improvisations as well. Not too bad, I think.

Now I can hear my notebook whispering to my ears (and I can't get over it) asking me to keep on touching its body, "touch my body... touch my body..." just like this guy/girl:

INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS: The Lost Art of the Film

I have to admit, Inglourious Basterds is one of my favourite films now, an addition to my all-time favourite films (you can check some of it HERE). I may be biased since I'm heavily influenced by Quentin Tarantino films - Reservoir fucking Dogs, Pulp fucking Fiction, Kill fucking Bill and Death fucking Proof.

What I like about Mr. Tarantino, or Quent, as he constantly insisted me to call him, about his films is that the films are raw, and almost seem crude. Not forgetting the memorable dialogues along with a mouthful profanity are some of the way I like it.

Anyway, not to linger on Quent too much, I wanna feature an event called The Lost Art of Inglourious Basterds. This is a charity event sales to help raise money for the victims of the Haiti earthquake.

There are 13 artworks done by 13 accomplished artists, based on their interpretation of the film itself.

Each of this giclée print artwork will be numbered and signed by Quent himself, and only six original artworks per artist will be sold for USD300 a pop and it's limited to one buyer per artwork. Remember, it's for the charity. Sad news are, it's only available at Upper Playground Los Angeles so phone orders and web orders will not be accepted. And, the event was held two days ago (February 18th 2010).

Check the fantastic artworks below:

If you had the chance, which one WOULD you buy and present as a gift to your mother? Tough choice, eh?

Ten Ten Ten Ten Ten Ten Ten Ten Ten Ten

So, it's the new decade already. 2010.

Ten years ago, I was 16 going on 17, the final year of my high school life. Sweet memories, as always.

However, we look back to our past, so that we know what have we missed, which turns have we wrongly made, what made us who we are now, and try and try and keep trying to be a better person as a whole.

There are so many quotes and sayings about "the past" which I am more than generous to share with you. Click HERE, and type "Past Quotes" in the Search Box, and there you go.

Today I want to share 10 categories of the decade. Here are the lists:
  1. Top 10 Songs of the Decade (by Rolling Stones)
  2. Top 10 Movies of the Decade (by IMDb)

Well I had to use this list because I need to emphasize the word "CONSISTENTLY", just to eliminate Megan Fox from the list (don't worry Megan baby, you'll definately be the #1 by the end of this decade!). And, the list was made based on the consistency of these babes being nominated in Maxim’s Hot 100, AskMen.com’s Top 99 Women, and FHM’s 100 Sexiest Women in the World. Now that's mathematics!

Apart from #10 which I never heard of, the rest of the list are just superhumans, precisely #1, he is beyond human ability. Watch it HERE. Jah!

*******

I'm kinda satisfied with the lists. They were all not entirely that bad, personally. It's not easy to choose from thousands of lists and actually make sense to me. You see, those lists were selected based on my personal opinions from different sources, safe to say from trusted sources, hence I put the source link so that you guys can compare to your lists (if you have one), even better from other sources. Perbezaan itu hikmah. I have to agree that a few categories were slightly biased (if not more), but I couldn't find a better list to top the one that I posted. Nevertheless, it's a good sharing.

So what about the categories?

Again, I can easily picked any Top 10's of the decade, but I personally chose those nine categories (apart from the tenth) because that's what I enjoy in my life. Music, films, art, sneakers, women, fashion/trend, books, cars, and sports. I wanted to squeeze in another category, which is "Top 10 Holiday Spots of the Decade" but I have no idea. I'll just leave it at that for now.

So what about you guys? Do you have any lists of the decade?

Just on the lighter note, in honoring the title of this entry:
