Declining of MANHOOD?

Man-skills are on the decline. Skinny jeans are on the rise. And male testosterone? Declining at 1% a year. What does it all mean for the future of mankind?

Is this true?

Nike Sportswear National Team Kits for South Africa World Cup 2010

FIFA 2010 World Cup South Africa is coming soon. Not that soon, in only about 111 days from now to be exact. I don't know about you guys but I will be staying up all month long for this once-in-four-year fiesta.

But football is not what I wanna talk about here literally. If you really wanna read some funny shit football stories, go to SOKERNET. It's damn freaking hilarious I tell ya.

Anyway just slightly on a more fashionable note, Nike Sportswear has teamed up with some very talented graphic artists to come up with National Team Kit for its sponsored nations for this coming 2010 World Cup. These artists were chosen based on their origin, meaning they have to be originally from the country they design for.

Say not much, here you go.

For more info on Kronk, click HERE.

For more info on Mister Cartoon, click HERE.

For more info on So Me, click HERE.

For more info on Delta, click HERE.

For more info on Nunca, click HERE.

For more info on James Jarvis, click HERE.

:Info via High Snobiety

So far there are six National Team Kit have been presented. I am sure there will be more National Team Kit by Nike Sportswear to be announced as we speak.

It's a really positive progress to see that arts and subculture artists are being recognised and being given the honor to take their national pride to the opposite side of the mainstream.

I'm sure if our proud country Malaysia ever to compete in FIFA World Cup (20??) we might have Datuk Lat to design it. Ermm, he must be too old for that shit though.

R.I.P: Alexander McQueen

This is rather shocking. A few minutes ago my cousin Yoe told me that one of my favourite designers, Alexander McQueen was found dead.

On behalf of Lee McQueen's family, Alexander McQueen today announces the tragic news that Lee McQueen, the founder and designer of the Alexander McQueen brand has been found dead at his home. At this stage it is inappropriate to comment on this tragic news beyond saying that we are devastated and are sharing a sense of shock and grief with Lee's family.

Lee's family has asked for privacy in order to come to terms with this terrible news and we hope the media will respect this.

—Alexander McQueen Office, Official Website, 11 February 2010

This is definitely a loss to the fashion industry as Alexander McQueen is considered one of the most talented and flamboyant designers of this era. He died at the age of 40.

Lee Alexander McQueen (16 March 1969 – 11 February 2010)

I own a few of Alexander McQueen's apparels over the couple of years, and they're really nice. Really.

You can go check the website at www.alexandermcqueen.com for more info.

I guess that's how the world works.

Sometimes, it is all for the charity.

This is one of the things that we often overlooked. Charity.

Yes I know most of us think that we need to use our money mostly for our own use i.e pay the bills, eat, pay loans and buy shoes (just the way I like it).

This time, I am going to invite all of you to a very interesting charity event.

You can find out more about this charity event HERE, HERE and HERE. Trust me, it is going to be DOPE!

Sometimes, it is all for the charity.

Have a great weekend, and with all due respect, Selamat Hari Thaipusam to the Hindus.

Memang dasar BUAYA!

Not me though. Them:

I like something different.

I like how simple twist creates something cynical, yet fresh.

I like these,

But to be honest, erkk, the last one is too much for my liking. In fact, it's kinda creepy, feels like you are being swamped by myriad of crocodiles. I don't think I can pull that off. Shit now I'm paranoid already!

Anyways, this special collection is a collaboration done between Lacoste and Estudio Campana, a design studio based in Sao Paulo founded by the Campana brothers, Fernando and Humberto.

I really think they did an awesome job, as far as design and creativity is concerned. Well, I know nothing about designs anyway, hence I'm the most suitable person to give critics.

Ladies, don't be sad, it comes in your fitting too. Surely not for the faint-hearted though. Don't say I didn't warn you!

Good thing is, it has a starting price tag of RM659 (for the basic - first t-shirt picture). I say it's cheap.

What?! Why?!

Well, simple math. If you buy the normal Lacoste Polo T-shirt, it cost you around what, RM299? So with this special design, you get about eight crocodiles on one t-shirt, and I'd say it's a steal!
The price is supposed to go up with more crocodiles on it (or bigger crocodile).

For more info, you can check out Lacoste x Campanas Collections HERE.

Yes, I'm so gonna buy this later.

One last thing,

COUTURE IS NOT FOR EVERYONE.

Ten Ten Ten Ten Ten Ten Ten Ten Ten Ten

So, it's the new decade already. 2010.

Ten years ago, I was 16 going on 17, the final year of my high school life. Sweet memories, as always.

However, we look back to our past, so that we know what have we missed, which turns have we wrongly made, what made us who we are now, and try and try and keep trying to be a better person as a whole.

There are so many quotes and sayings about "the past" which I am more than generous to share with you. Click HERE, and type "Past Quotes" in the Search Box, and there you go.

Today I want to share 10 categories of the decade. Here are the lists:

And, the list was made based on the consistency of these babes being nominated in Maxim’s Hot 100, AskMen.com’s Top 99 Women, and FHM’s 100 Sexiest Women in the World. Now that's mathematics!

*******

I'm kinda satisfied with the lists. They were all not entirely that bad, personally. It's not easy to choose from thousands of lists and actually make sense to me. You see, those lists were selected based on my personal opinions from different sources, safe to say from trusted sources, hence I put the source link so that you guys can compare to your lists (if you have one), even better from other sources. Perbezaan itu hikmah. I have to agree that a few categories were slightly biased (if not more), but I couldn't find a better list to top the one that I posted. Nevertheless, it's a good sharing.

So what about the categories?

Again, I can easily picked any Top 10's of the decade, but I personally chose those nine categories (apart from the tenth) because that's what I enjoy in my life. Music, films, art, sneakers, women, fashion/trend, books, cars, and sports. I wanted to squeeze in another category, which is "Top 10 Holiday Spots of the Decade" but I have no idea. I'll just leave it at that for now.

So what about you guys? Do you have any lists of the decade?

Just on the lighter note, in honoring the title of this entry:

Rokkit!

I was cleaning up my room the other day, and found a treasure.

My OBEY PROPAGANDA jeans!

This is I would say one of the early stuff I bought on my own when I first started the whole street-wear thing. I think it was around 2002 or 2003. Can't really remember, time flies.

Yes of course I had Levi's and all that mainstream craps before that, but this particular pair of jeans did change my perspective of styling and sense of exclusivity.

I bought them from shit-I-can't-remember-the-shop-name. Owh yes, Zone5 at Sg. Wang Plaza! Yes finally I remember. I remember, when I first had it tried, I was kinda confused or rather uncomfortable, the length of the jeans were just at the bottom of my heel. Like, short? But the material and the texture of the jeans were awesome so I thought,"Hey what the hell, right?" and ended up being one of my most-favourite jeans, all-time.

Au naturale

You can see how trashed this fella looks now, after thousand times of wearing and washing, under every possible weather and condition.

I don't have the picture of it at the early age, so I'll just let you guys enjoy the result after about 6-7 years.

From dark blue to I-don't-know-what-color-is-this

Yeah he traveled A LOT

Still standing strong!

Guys, please wear your stuff until it can't be worn anymore. Jeans and shoes are not for display or trophies. Just wear.

Albino Pigeon is coming to town!

Last year, 2008, marked the release of New Balance 575 "Purple Pigeon". It created so much hype as Jeff Staple, the main brain behind Staple Design who designed the shoe cleverly use PIGEON as his marketing tool. New York = Pigeon. Really?

Hi, my name is Jeff C. Ng. Call me Mr. Staple

The New Yorkers love us now even if we be shitting on them everyday

I didn't buy it, though I kinda like the color combination and the materials used on that pair. I still can get it still, there's some resellers who I can talk to and persuade to sell to me at a good price. We'll see, Hari Raya Aidilfitri is coming soon after all.

This year, Jeff is coming back with the "ever-creative, out-of-the-box, hypebeast-mentality, over-used idea" of making more money without even have to think too much. I admire that, to be honest. And I don't know why people are rambling about the hardships of making easy money. Nonsensical ignorant.

"As you can see, so much effort and creativity were put in designing this pair of shoes which I can humbly say a 'breakthrough' in sneakers industry........... (I'm a few million dollars richer next week!)"

What did he came up with? Rarer pigeon, or very rare species of animal in general, of genetically mutated. Albino. Yes, albino pigeon. Well, he called them the "White Pigeon" but it's not gonna change the fact that these unfortunate pigeons are albinos.

At last, we've got our freedom and equality among pigeons!

Same model (New Balance 575), probably same materials, and a lot of hard work to choose the best color and sell 1,077 pairs (with I'm sure there another couple of thousands in their store, marked as 'samples' or 'for Friends & Family' or 'I wanna make more money, so what?!')

Actually, Nike was the first
to get their hands into this pigeon craze with their own Nike Dunk SB x Staple Design "Purple Pigeon" or "New York SB", as we knew caused a stir in New York upon its release in 2007. Yes, pimps and gangstas fought over a few pairs of shoes. I heard there were 200++ pairs released, but again, who knows?

I don't know pigeons and their shits worth this much

OG? You kiddin' me?

Anyhow, our good friends at SOLE WHAT? are really generous and fortunate to have the opportunity to release these 'physically-challenged' pigeons to our beloved Kuala Lumpur. Seriously, SOLE WHAT? is one of the leading sneaker stores in South East Asia region. Big ups to the cool dudes/dudette there.

One big happy family

Yes, they will be releasing the New Balance 575 x Staple Design "Albino/White Pigeon" this weekend, if I'm not mistaken. For more info, you can check the details from their official blog. Click SOLE WHAT?

I kinda like this pair too, you know. Feels like I'm 'whiter' if I wear them. We all wanna be WHITE, don't we?

Suit me.

I have a weird passion. Fashion. I don't know how or where it came from. I just love it. Simple as that.

Most of you would probably noticed that I tend to go for sneakers more than other types of apparel. Well, you can say that. Maybe it's easier to put on a pair of shoes and let other parts follow. And I used to buy A LOT of tees too but tees are hard to maintain. After a number of washes it'll fade or loses its texture strength and many other things. Especially the white ones. Damn it's hard to keep. So I realized I can't be buying $300 tee and lasts about a year, it's not really worth it. And I bought those tees around that price, not one or two, but A LOT.

So I turned to jeans, and sneakers. Though they are usually more expensive, they're easier to maintain, lasts longer and looks better in time. The fades, the worn-out look, the feel. Nice. I can't say I'm a collector, but I do have few decent pairs. Definitely will add more to the inventory.

The only thing I am lacked of now is, SUITS.

I do have a pair of suits which I have them tailored about five years ago. I kid you not. I still can wear it. And who said I've gained weight?! Jealous fuckers.

It was my Nehru Suit. I like the style, something a 21-year-old kid would not wear, but I did. It's all about experiencing new things, right?

That's about it. No more suits. I reckoned there's no reason to buy myself another suit. I would just rent it if I go for a formal function. Plus how many times I would go for a dinner function in a year anyway?

But recently I have this one funny feeling about getting myself a pair. Or more. The idea of wearing nice-looking, clean-cut, elegant pieces of apparels is kind of growing in me. I've been following The Sartorialist blog for years, and every day I have a better understanding and I thought it's something people in Malaysia, well Kuala Lumpur respectively would not really wear.

So I will buy/tailor myself a pair of suits, but there's a few things I need to know about getting a suit. For example:

- What style would I go for?

- What colour should I choose?

- Which fabric is best?

- Which brand do I need?

- What size am I?

- What can I wear it with?

- What must I wear it with?

So I decided to do some research and learn about this new section of fashion in my life. It's hard for me to explain as I'm new to this, so you guys can go check it out at The Guide To Men's Suits. It has good information on how to dress up in suits. Again, this website is only for your reference. You can always find more information and knowledge from somewhere else, and try to get the best result for you.

I'm still looking for my own style. Any idea?

By the way
, I love the one which Adrien Brody was wearing in The Darjeeling Limited. The grey suit. Fucking awesome. Should watch the film if you want to know why.

If I'm not mistaken, the wardrobe was done by Marc Jacobs for Louis Vuitton

I'm so into grey now.

Nice. Really.

The bags are even nicer. Like, OMG OMG OMG OMG.

A teaser so that you'll watch the film. My Natalie Portman the bombshell! Nude!

Passion in Fashion

A flashback.

This picture was taken by April Kuan from Juice magazine back in January 2007 during the celebration of Nike Air Force One's XXV Anniversary Party (pictures at NSB.org HERE!). It was appeared on the Editor's Note picture for Juice Magazine issue February/March 2007 if I'm not mistaken. Ha ha ha thanks April!

They say fashion is temporary, STYLE is FOREVER.
(Brother Kieren on the left with his OG Supreme tee)

The fiber cast artwork was done by my boy, Izat Arif and coincidentally matched with my favourite shoes at the moment, the Nike Court Force Premium x Gimme 5 (Gimme 5 is/was a sneaker shop in the UK). And, the infamous graffiti artist The Killer Gerbil a.k.a KGB tagged my cast there and then! Mad!

It was about 3 months or so after I got hit by the car thingy (check HERE for better understanding).

Broken leg didn't stop me from doing what I love. How about you ladies and gentlemen?

Pick-up: April's FULL!

"Pick-up" is not about picking up girls, it's so lame. Seriously to all the guys out there, get a life.

My definition of "Pick-up" is basically buying something, same as shopping but more significant to my passion. As for me, it's always sneakers and anything related to fashion. I don't post my pick-up of groceries because it does not make any sense to my passion.

I have not updated anything about my pick-ups. In fact, I think I've never had this kind of entry yet. Well guess what, I will try and start this special "Pick-up" entry, starting this month! It's gonna be a monthly thing, where I'll be writing about stuff that I bought for the month.

Let us start now. This will be for the month of April 2009.

First up, is the
Adidas Kegler Super! It's super! And in it's original colorways! I've rocked them quite a few times already. Adidas is my new craze! You can find this sweeties at selected Adidas Originals stores around South East Asia. *ehem-ehem* KLCC *hint hint*

Hail Kegler!

Second up, is the Nike Dunk Hi Vandal Premium in black/black colorway with super-fine full nylon material. The good thing about this nylon material is that, it doesn't creased easily and yes, it looks super-shiny and super-rich too! Grab them at Sole What? now!

Darth suit.

Owh shit I forgot. It comes with a set of pink laces. PINK. And yes it looks mighty fine and cute too, believe me. Pink is not for girls anymore. Girls, just move on with it.

With a darther bow-tie...

Third pick-up of the month, is this classy yet simple Pedro leather shoes for my formal wear. This is rather unusual for the family, but hey the other shoes are professionals so they totally understand. Yes I have to wear it for my meetings or any other formal purposes, though I believe I can still wear it with shorts and polo shirt. Will try that later.

Welcome to the family pendejo..

Next, is something that I've posted before I got my hands on it. This hustler came all the way from Germany. The flight was delayed, and this hustler had some troubles with the authorities regarding the permits or visa to stay in Malaysia forever. Well he must be really excited to meet the new Master a.k.a BudakNakal.

Coming soon?????? No!!!!!!!

Finally (so sweet he brought a souvenir for me)

Yes this is a pair of Puma R698 x Solebox. I like it very much. Nice colorways, different materials used on the shoes (suade, mesh, what else) and it's only sold in Solebox. <-- Check their website! And we received a cool surprise, a light-beeping laces or whatever they call it. I'll try to lace it up later to TAG night ha ha!

Looks like a pair of handcuffs.. Me likey kinky from Germany...

Light me up bitch!

Deutschland delicacy...

Finally, the last pair. But this last pair are not sneakers. It's in a different category. It's a pair of jeans. Yes. Finally a dark black (I wonder if there's less-dark black or light black) slim-cut jeans for me (Can't wear skinny jeans coz my knots don't fit!). It's from McQ by Alexander McQueen.

Alexander McQueen is one of my favourite designer. He designs something different and in a way, his name just fits the aura. Like a rockstar, ain't it? I got these pair from M Store for Men at The Gardens, Mid Valley. Brought to you by Melium Group. Go check them out biatches!

Crime scene..

M is for...

Devil from valley of the darkness...

Micro-focus (this is solely for Joe Alif)

April's FULL!

Dockers Spring/Summer 2009 Launching

Sorry for the late update. Internet connection was bad during the weekend. It's like PMS, only it's every fucking weekend.

So yeah, the event went on Thursday (March 5th, 2009) at The Apartment Downtown, Suria KLCC.

I reached there at about 12 in the afternoon, after I sorted out the clothes at the laundry shop for the show. Reached there and thank God the stage setup was fine, as I expected it to be.

Anyways, this is the coverage for the Dockers San Francisco Spring/Summer 2009 Collections: The Khaki Life Launching.

The runway for the show

The backdrop looks fine as well

Adil Johan Trio doing a sound check

The boys sorting out the door gifts for media and guests

Checking up the clothes for the models

The host of the day, Charmaine Poo doing her make-ups and hair

Sorting out the rehearsal among other things

Andrew from AndrewsModels coordinating the main showcase

The models are from AndrewsModels, if any of you would like to know (for any particular reasons).

The fashion show in-house DJ (I don't remember the name, sorry)

I have no idea why they have this logo for the event

Media and guest registration table

Guests and media chilling before the event starts

One of my friend and a guest himself at the event, Adian Yein

DJ Fazral Elme on the deck with his latest favourite tunes

Guests taking the seats as the show was about to start

Opening speech from Charmaine Poo

She's a gorgeous little thing, isn't she? *wink*

Before that, let me tell you guys who is this Charmaine Poo. She was the runner-up for the Miss Malaysia/Universe 2005. She also grabbed three subsidiary titles namely Miss Beautiful, Miss Natural Beauty and Miss Crowning Glory. She was also voted as one of FHM Malaysia's 100 Sexiest Women. Isn't that something? Wanna know more about her? GOOGLE.

And the main show starts

Battle of the 6-packers

And the photographers love it (and that cute lady in blue/yellow tops too)

Event director, Quinten Wong and his deep thoughts on the models

Runway continues

Finale run

Dockers bosses surrounded by the models for the photo-opp

Adil Johan Trio entertaining the guests with their best jazz tunes, as always

Demmmmmm....

Charmaine with Pn. Haliza (Dockers) and her cute daughter, Maryam

Look what she's wearing yo! Hehe...

Lastly, the event ended at about 6 in the evening. It was fun as usual. Another experience, another learning curves and definitely another helluva event. Me, on the other hand, couldn't miss my chance for my own photo-opp before it's too late:

Offering my shoulder to this drop-dead gorgeous lady hehee..
