Valentine Mode #7 (FINALE): Who Needs Valentine's?

In the middle of the morning
The room is noisy with us moaning
Who needs Valentine's?

In the middle of the afternoon
We're still pretty much on the moon
Who needs Valentine's?

In the middle of the day
We're sweeping off each others feet away
Who needs Valentine's?

In the middle of the evening
We're teasing and kissing and humping
Who needs Valentine's?

In the middle of the night
I wake up and you are by my side
Who needs Valentine's?

When you are mine
Who needs Valentine's?

Dem yuh!

Very romantic! I believe you've done a fine job of writing the articles and concluding with the notion, who needs valentines?

Well-developed and structured. I like it ;)

In response to my comment on the first series of your Valentine Mode articles : Of Appreciation, I suppose our memories are merciful, they store up details of happiness more readily than details of sorrow.

However, most of us respond ungratefully by indulging our innate passion for self-torture by turning remembrance to regret.

In the end the memory of something perfect becomes even more sadder than the memories of despair, for we torment ourself with the thought that it can never be quite the same again.

Happiness is so easy to picture that sometimes, one dwells almost morbidly on some lovely memory, harping on the fact that it's gone, comparing it unfavourably to the present until you can no longer take it and dissolve into a flood of despair.

This mindset needs to be changed.

So, let's leave the memories as what they are, and live for today and the future, appreciate the moments that come with it and learn from whatever mistakes that we make.

After all, life's too short to live in regrets. Right?

The articles were not exactly planned that way. But I'm glad you liked it. Thanks.

Now I'm officially ran out of ideas. Maybe I should write about Winter Olympics.
